Seeing the movie years later is like opening a time capsule. It did a lot of repeat business while the sweet smell of pot drifted through theaters. It became one of the rallying-points of the late '60s, a road picture and a buddy picture, celebrating sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll, and the freedom of the open road. Slam Dunk’d – “No Price” (ft.Nobody went to see "Easy Rider" (1969) only once. Led Zeppelin – “Ramble On” (Souleance Edit) This’ll still be the track I look back on as my jam of 2014.ĭom La Nena – “Batuque” (Jeremy Sole & Atropolis Remix)įat White Family – “Touch The Leather (Redux)” Oh well…label decisions don’t affect it’s banger status.

I thought for sure it’d take the crown as summer jam of 2014, but alas, Vic’s label never released it Stateside. Literally every time I played this track for the first couple of months, I’d get messages on social media and phone calls in the studio asking about this song and raving about how good it is.

#EASY RIDER SONG FULL#
Vic Mensa – “Down On My Luck” – I always expected Vic Mensa to do big things, I just didn’t realize how soon we’d see his talent in full bloom. This slow-cooked dancehall burner burrowed its way into my eardrums in the spring and became my “Serenity Now!”-esque mantra for 2014.ġ. Popcaan – “Everything Nice” – The perfection of “ Everything Nice” is in its minimalism. Once Danny Brown comes in, it’s game over then when the bass hits, it’s game over pt. Danny Brown) – The opening siren of “ Attak” is like a clarion call to get buck. The Juan MacLean – “Love Stops Here” – TIMELESS.ģ. Rubbery basslines, catchy hooks, and fun vibes = I’M ALL IN.Ĥ. If you were to ask me to describe what kind of music catches my ear, this would be it. De Lux – “Better At Making Time” – I would guess this was probably my most played song of 2014. Shiba San – “Okay” – If you went out to the club more than a handful of times this year, chances are you heard this song and chances are you went nuts when the bass dropped on it.ĥ. Francois & The Atlas Mountains – “La Verite” – This was the catchiest tune of 2014.Ħ. Herve x Zebra Katz – “Tear The House Up” – The original and every remix of this song was on point.ħ. PillowTalk – “Devil’s Run” – This sounds like what would happen if Bono sang a Springsteen-penned song that was produced by James Murphy.ĩ. Childish Gambino) – It’s all about the celestial atmosphere set by the insane Nektar sample flipped by Harry Fraud on this one.ġ0. Brynjolfur – “The Save” – Hauntingly, achingly beautiful.ġ1. This girl is going to be a star in 2015 – get on the bandwagon now. Tkay Maidza – “U-Huh” – THUNDA FROM DOWN UNDA. David Woodcock – “Splinters” – Smart lyrics and a catchy melody. I get a +10 energy boost every time I hear it.Ģ2. Oliver – “Light Years Away” – If I had one of those alarm clocks that you could program to wake you up to a specific song, this would be the song I’d wake up to. Sounds like late 70’s solo MJ with a modern production touch.Ģ3. Old people, young people, everyone gets down to this track. Dedication – “I Ain’t Gonna Tell You” (DJ Kaos Highland Park Power Mix) – This was one of my staples whenever I DJed out and it never failed me. I can’t decide which one I like better, so it’s a tie.Ģ4. Ghost Culture – “Giudecca” / “Arms” (tie) – Two tracks from the early frontrunner for 2015’s album of the year. Editor’s Note: Work your way down Travis’ Top 25 singles of the year to find out his #1 pick and then discover a bunch of bonus tracks at the bottom!Ģ5.
